The glasses
The adequate shape of the wine-glass can ennoble the relish of wine-tasting, by exploiting the savour and aromas of the wine.
Here are a few recommendations for glasses:
- a stem and foot is requisite for a wine-glass, so as not to touch the cup, thus warming its content
- let it be transparent, without inlays or other adornments in order to correctly evaluate its gloss and colour
- let it be perfectly clean in order not to influence the taste and aroma of the wine
- let it have a shape specific to the type of wine which is tasted in order to emphasise its qualities
